Japan Flag

The flag of Japan has an all white background with a red circle directly in the center. The white symbolizes honesty and purity, and the red represents a sun symbol which symbolizes brightness sincerity and warmth. This describes the Japanese rising sun flag.

In 1941, Japan bombed Pearl Harbor’s United States base. In 1945, the United States dropped two atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After the attack, Emperor Hirohito surrendered to the United States. They occupied Japan from 1945 to 1952. Japan is the world’s second largest economic power.
